What is JDR//?

JDR// is an endowment fund (fonds de dotation) dedicated to supporting young innovators aged 7 to 17. We identify, mentor, and finance projects led by young changemakers who want to build a better tomorrow.

Our mission is to nurture the potential of the next generation: giving every child — regardless of background or country — the resources, visibility, and support to turn their ideas into reality.

What is the Tomorrowland initiative?

Tomorrowland is JDR//'s flagship program. Each cycle, we select the most promising projects submitted by young innovators and provide them with:

  • Direct financial support and project funding
  • Personalized mentoring from industry experts
  • Visibility through our network and media partners
  • Access to a global community of young innovators

The name "Tomorrowland" reflects our belief that today's young inventors are literally building tomorrow's world.

What countries are eligible?

JDR// is open to young innovators from any country in the world. We believe great ideas know no borders.

Our platform is designed to be multilingual and globally accessible. Whether you are in Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, or anywhere else — if you have an impactful idea and are between 7 and 17 years old, we want to hear from you.

Specific regulatory or tax receipt conditions for donations may vary by country. Contact us at team@jdr.fund for details.

Who can submit a project?

Any young person between the ages of 7 and 17 can submit a project, regardless of nationality or country of residence. Projects may be individual or collaborative (a small team of young people working together).

There is no requirement for academic achievement, technical background, or prior experience. We are looking for genuine passion, creative thinking, and a real desire to make a difference.

Young people under 13 must have parental or guardian consent to submit a project. The parent or guardian will be the main point of contact.
What types of projects are accepted?

We welcome projects across all domains, as long as they aim to create a positive impact. Examples include:

  • Environmental and climate solutions
  • Social and community initiatives
  • Technology, apps, or digital tools
  • Scientific research or inventions
  • Arts, culture, and education
  • Health and well-being innovations

We do not fund commercial projects primarily aimed at generating profit. The core of the project must have a positive societal, environmental, or humanitarian purpose.

How does the selection process work?

Once you submit your project through our online form, our team reviews every application. The evaluation is based on:

  • Originality and creativity of the idea
  • Potential for positive impact
  • Feasibility and clarity of approach
  • Commitment and motivation of the young innovator(s)

Selected projects are invited to a brief conversation with our team. Final selections are announced at the end of each cycle.

Every applicant receives a personalized response. We give constructive feedback to all submissions, whether selected or not.
What happens after submitting a project?

After submitting your project, you will receive a confirmation email. Our team then reviews your application within the current selection cycle (typically a few weeks).

If your project is shortlisted, we will contact you — and your parent or guardian if you are under 13 — to schedule a short call and learn more about your idea.

Selected projects receive a support package tailored to their needs: funding, mentoring sessions, and access to our network of experts and partners.

Is it free to participate?

Yes, participation is entirely free for young innovators. Submitting a project, going through the selection process, and — if selected — receiving support from JDR// costs nothing for the young person or their family.

JDR// is financed by donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Our mission is to ensure that financial barriers never prevent a talented young person from developing their idea.

How is my child's data protected?

The protection of minors' data is a top priority for JDR//. We comply fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable laws regarding the processing of children's personal data.

  • We collect only the data strictly necessary for processing applications
  • Data concerning minors under 13 is processed only with verifiable parental consent
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes
  • You may request access, correction, or deletion of your child's data at any time

For any data privacy requests, contact us at team@jdr.fund with "Data Request" in the subject line.
